“Study Dammit!!” Magnet

We started making this magnet in the mid-90’s at Betts Bookstore, and when we came across an old one, we knew it was time to bring it back!

History of the image:

"The year is 1970. Stephen King has spent the last three years as a columnist for The Maine Campus, the University of Maine’s student-run newspaper, and is nearing graduation. In an effort to go out with a “bang”, Stephen and Maine Campus photographer Frank Kadi head out to the woods with an (unloaded?) shotgun, seeking to “shoot” the capstone cover for their last Finals week.

What they ended up with was one of the most controversial, frightening and well-known newspaper covers ever produced. Designed so students could rip off the front page and use their image as a “public service announcement”, Study, Dammit!! was blown into history on January 15th, 1970".
