Stephen and Tabitha King bought the blood red Victorian house on West Broadway, in Bangor, in 1980.  Today it serves as the home of the King Foundation. 

The Thomas Hill Standpipe (recognized as the Derry Standpipe by King fans) was erected in 1897 and continues to be in use.  The standpipe is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1980, it was designated as an American Water Landmark by the American Water Works Association.
